TO CANNING MY REBORN’S PLACE

To canning, I have gotten my soul,

I have understood what is called life

Earlier I was nothing but a foil-

An unknown invisible wind touched my brain with knife.

I have totally changed in mind,

And learned how to fight…

I have stopped between cruel and kind

So I do not find my former tight.

Now I have focused to my goal,

I am praying to the mother of canning,

Give me an invincible power in my soul,

As if I have learned my whole life running.

For Mamata and Bhuddodev iwent there;

Bridge and cycle brought me here…

Thank you

SUMMARY OF INDIAN POETRY ” ON KILLING A TREE”

The poem posits a scathing attack upon the human action of reckless cutting down of trees. The poem is a lyric where Gieve Patel raises an angry voice against deforestation. The poet considers the cutting down of a tree to be a violent ritual. He look upon the feeling of a tree as a murderer. It is a murder which is heinous in the slow drawing out of the action. The poet casts a pathetic glance at the up of a tree by deriving nourishment from the land and the sky. The poet thinks that human beings harbour an intense dislike from a full grown tree. Therefore ostrich cut in a cruel process that reflects the meriless mode of the cutter. the poet says, destruction of  the tree is not complete by the mere  falling of it.  The tree is removed from its place of birth by vengefully uprooting it  and living the stump to wither.
